The process of creating custom challenge coins involves careful consideration and attention to detail. Each coin is uniquely designed to reflect the identity and values of the organization it represents. When it comes to the CBP, these coins are tailored to embody the spirit of border protection, trade facilitation, and ensuring the safety of American citizens.
The customization begins with conceptualization, where designers collaborate with CBP officers to bring their vision to life. Key elements such as the CBP emblem, American flag, and other relevant symbols are incorporated to capture the essence of the organization.
Manufacturing these challenge coins requires precision and craftsmanship. High-quality materials, including brass or zinc alloy, are used to ensure durability and a polished finish. The use of advanced techniques, such as die-casting and enamel coloring, further enhances the overall appearance of the coins.
For CBP employees, receiving a custom challenge coin is not just a routine accolade. It signifies recognition for their outstanding efforts in safeguarding the nation’s borders, regulating trade, and inspecting goods to ensure compliance with the law. These coins become cherished symbols of unity and camaraderie among the CBP team, fostering a sense of belonging and pride.
